Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo made a shocking move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr after Premier League club Manchester United terminated the Portuguese’s contract. Ronaldo has signed a record-breaking contract with Al Nassr wherein he will reportedly earn $200 million a year. The Saudi Arabian club officially unveiled the star footballer on Tuesday (3 January). The 37-year-old also looked really happy to have made this move.
Ronaldo said that his work in Europe is done. “I’m so proud to make this big decision in my life, in football. As you mentioned before, in Europe my work, it’s done. I won everything,” the five-time Ballon d’Or winner said during his unveiling. “I played the most important clubs in Europe and for me now, it’s a new challenge.”
Now, as Ronaldo starts a new life at Al Nassr, there is good news for his fans back in India. For all the CR7 fans, there is a possibility of the Portuguese star coming to India and playing against one of the Indian Super League (ISL) clubs. Many would not believe this but Ronaldo making a move to a Saudi Arabian club has opened the doors for him to play against an ISL club.
Here's how CR7 can play against ISL clubs
As Al Nassr is currently at the No.1 position in Saudi Pro League, if they win the League they'll qualify for the AFC Champions League. Meanwhile, team that wins Indian Super League Winners' Shield also Qualifies for AFC Champions League. Also, both India & Saudi Arabia are in West Region. If ISL League Winners and Al-Nassr are drawn in the same group or face each other in knockouts, then fans might get to see Cristiano Ronaldo facing ISL Teams or traveling to India for Away Legs.
