CWG 2022 Boxing: Nikhat Zareen beats England's Alfia Stubley 5-0 to reach women's 50kg final

World Boxing Championships gold medallist Nikhat Zareen defeated Savannah Alfia Stubley of England 5-0 in semi-final of the women's 50 kg category boxing event at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Saturday. The Indian boxer has qualified for the women's boxing final event with the win over her English opponent.

Nikhat Zareen, who represented the blue corner in the semi-final, took command over her opponent in the opening round of the match as the 26-year-old Indian boxer managed to win the first round by unanimous decision.

India's ace boxer Nikhat dominated the second round as she landed series of punches on her opponent. The story remained same in the third round as Nikhat emerged as the clear winner of the semi-final bout.

After winning the semi-final against England's Stubley, Nikhat will now take on the likes of Carly MC Naul of Northern Ireland in the women's 50 kg boxing final on Sunday, August 6.
