Indian player Sathiyan Gnanasekaran won bronze medal in men’s singles table tennis event on Monday after defeating England's Paul Drinkhall in the Commonwealth Games 2022. Sathiyan won the bronze medal match 4-3 against his English opponent.

G. Sathiyan opened the bronze medal clash confidently as he managed a 3-0 lead at the starting of the game. However, Drinkhall pulled off a comeback to win three back-to-back games against the Indian before losing the final game.

Sharath Kamal will face Liam Pitchford in the men's singles table tennis final later on Monday.

Earlier, the Indian pair of Achanta Sharath Kamal and G Sathiyan lost 2-1 to England's Paul Drinkhall and Liam Pitchford to settle for silver medal in men’s doubles Table Tennis event at the CWG 2022.
