Indian wrestler Deepak Nehra beat CWG 2018 bronze medallist Tayab Raza of Pakistan for the 97kg bronze medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. With Deepak's bronze, India secured medals in each category of wrestling they participated in the Birmingham Games.

Deepak registered a comfortable victory over Pakistan's Tayab Raza 10-2 to secure the bronze medal for India in CWG 2022.

Deepak managed a 3-2 lead over his opponent in the first round of men's 97 kg bronze match. The Indian wrestler gave no room to the Pakistani to make a comeback as he dominated Tayab in the second round by gathering 6 points instantly.

Earlier, Deepak Nehra qualified for the Repechage round after losing (6-8) to Canada's Nishan Randhawa in Men's Freestyle 97 Kg quarter-final.

Meanwhile, India won six medals in wrestling event across different categories on Saturday in the Commonwealth Games 2022 to take India's total medal count to 37 medals with 12 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 14 bronze medals.
