The 2022 British Grand Prix witnessed Ferrari's Carlos Sainz pulling off his maiden Formula 1 victory, while the championship leader Max Verstappen finished in seventh place. After the restart, Sergio Perez passed Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc to finish second.

Earlier in June, Red Bull's Sergio Pérez won his first F1 race of the season in Monaco GP. Red Bull driver Max Verstappen's father Jos had expressed disappointment with the team's influence over the Mexican's victory. Jos said, “Red Bull achieved a good result, but at the same time exerted little influence to help Max to the front.”

However, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has dismissed criticism from Jos Verstappen and said, "Dads and fathers are never totally objective... Jos is his own person and personality. He's got opinions and that's absolutely fine, that's his opinion. The reality for us was obviously slightly different… it's no issue."

Finally, the F1 world champion Max Verstappen addressed the matter by saying, "My dad never said I was going to be a champion. He was always the opposite. He would tell me I was going to be a truck driver or a bus driver."

After the drama of Silverstone, the Austrian Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, July 10. All eyes will be on Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez as the F1 race heads to Red Bulls' home track.
