Former Australian cricketer David Warner is set to make his acting debut with a cameo appearance in the upcoming Telugu film "Robinhood". The film, directed by Venky Kudumula, stars Nithiin and Sreeleela in lead roles and is scheduled for worldwide release on March 28, 2025. Warner, known for his dynamic presence on the cricket field, has previously showcased his affinity for Telugu cinema through social media, where he often shared videos emulating popular Tollywood dance sequences. His transition to the silver screen has generated significant excitement among fans. Expressing his enthusiasm, Warner shared the film's poster on his social media platforms.
He said, “Indian cinema, here I come.” sharing the official poster for the film in his twitter post. The cricketer also said how he loved shooting for this film and mentioned the worldwide release date of the film in his post.
David Warner will miss out on playing in IPL 2025
The production house, Mythri Movie Makers, also welcomed Warner to Indian cinema, highlighting his cameo role in Robinhood. The film is anticipated to be an action-packed entertainer, with music composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Warner's involvement is expected to attract both cricket fans and cinema-goers, adding a unique dimension to the film's appeal. David Warner, who has been very popular among Indian cricket fans due to the IPL, is set to miss out in the 2025 edition as no franchise bid for him in the latest mega auction. Warner featured in the 2024 IPL with the Delhi Capitals where he played eight matches and scored 168 runs. Post that, in June 2024, Warner played his last T20 international match with Australia in the T20 World Cup and then announced retirement from the format.
