The England cricket team has been dealt with a major blow as their star batter has been reportedly ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal against India. England is set to play India in the second semifinal of the tournament on Thursday (November 10) at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide.

However, there is no confirmation from the England Cricket Board (ECB), several reports have suggested that the key batter Dawid Malan, who suffered a groin injury during the team’s game against Sri Lanka on Saturday (5 November) is likely to miss this all-important game.

The hard hitter, who was positioned at point during England’s last league match, tweaked his left groin as he tried to stop Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s shot. He was quick to signal towards the England dressing room as he walked off the field in pain.

England captain Jos Buttler also addressed on Malan’s injury. “It’s too early to tell, but hopefully he’ll pull up well. He would have batted if he’d needed to. Running would have been difficult, but he would have gone out there”, Jos Buttler said after the match.
