Celebrating Gujarat Titans' stunning win against Kolkata Knight Riders, GT opener Shubman Gill shared an Instagram post with a cryptic caption taking a swipe at his former team. The defending champions continued their winning form with their third consecutive victory as they took down the Knight Riders by seven wickets.

After a decent bowling effort, Gujarat was given a target of 180 and pulled off an incredible chase thanks to Gill’s 49 in 36 balls, David Miller’s 32 in 28 balls and a half-century by Vijay Shankar. These high-quality knocks helped the Titans register a seven-wicket win.

Later taking to Instagram, Shubman Gill shared a few pictures from the match which were captioned ‘Day Riders’ with a blue heart emoji. This was a direct shot at the Kolkata franchise, who ahead of the 2022 IPL season had released Gill into the player draft, allowing Gujarat to pick him.

Reacting to this post, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya also shared a laughing emoji with a red heart. While other GT players like Rashid Khan, Rahul Tewatia and Abhinav Manohar reacted by posting multiple fire emojis.

Addressing this performance, Hardik Pandya was elated with his team’s all-around effort and stressed how being humble helped them in this fixture. He further expressed that he saw contributions from across his teams and even had some words of praise for Vijay Shankar. He said, “Down the line in the group, we know that we'll have to play good cricket to win the game, that's the humbleness which has kept us in good stead.

“Everyone wants to contribute, but they accept difficult positions and want to come out on top. It's all about playing good cricket consistently, irrespective of a win or a loss. He's fitter, more confident and the amount of hard work he's done is terrific. Going forward, you'll see a lot of Vijay Shankar, I always believe in my life that good guys go to good places, I'm very happy.”
