The grand finale of Indian Premier League 2023 between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, which was scheduled to begin from 7:30 PM on May 28, has been delayed due to rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The highly-anticipated clash between the four-time champions CSK and defending champions GT could be the last IPL game in the cricketing career of the Indian legend MS Dhoni.
According to the rules and regulations of the Indian Premier League, the final can be delayed up to 12:26 AM for a 5-over clash tonight. In case the match doesn’t get completed on May 28, it will resume from where it was last interrupted, on May 29 tomorrow. Meanwhile, if the final doesn’t get played on Sunday, then it will get a fresh start on Monday. Furthermore, if there is no game on May 29 either, then Gujarat Titans will be declared IPL 2023 winners, owing to a top spot finish on the points table ahead of their opponents Chennai Super Kings.
With all the uncertainty around the grand finale of the IPL, the fans on Twitter have flooded the comments section of various social media accounts reporting the game live. Many of those fans are praying for the rain to stop, while some others are having a laugh at the expense of teams who aren’t in the summit clash of the Indian Premier League. A few followers of cricket also wanted India to have rooftop stadiums.
