South Africa cricketer Dewald Brevis stole the show in the SA20 tournament opener on Tuesday. Star batter smashed an unbeaten 70 to take MI Cape Town to a comfortable win over Paarl Royals by eight wickets. In a big update, it has been reported that the young South African batter might open the innings for Mumbai Indians in the upcoming edition.

Also known as ‘Baby AB’, the 19-year-old wreaked havoc with his batting prowess  and was later adjudged the first Player of Match in the inaugural edition of SA20.  The South African batter also received accolades  from his idol “Mr 360” AB de Villiers  after his unbeaten 70 off 41 deliveries.

England pacer Jofra Archer finally returned to competitive  cricket after nearly 18 months. On his return from elbow and back injuries, the paceman ended the day in MI’s favor with the figures 3/27. The 27-year-old last played competitive  cricket in 2021.

 

The MI Cape Town will next face Durban Super Giants in their next game at the Newlands (Cape Town) on January 13 (Friday) at 9:00 PM IST.
