After securing a podium finish at Stockholm and then claiming the first position in Lausanne Diamond League last week, Indian star Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will be looking to clinch his first Diamond League Finals trophy in Zurich.
The grand finals of the Diamond League 2022 will take place in Zurich, Switzerland on September 7 and 8. Currently, Neeraj Chopra is placed in the fourth position behind top-ranked Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, Germany’s Julian Weber, and third-placed Anderson Peters in the overall standings.
However, the World Champion Anderson Peters has sustained an injury last month and withdrew from the Diamond League final. After his decision, the top six players to qualify for the grand final stage are Jakub Vadlejch, Julian Weber, Neeraj Chopra, Leandro Ramos, Curtis Thompson and Patricks Galiums.
In Stockholm Diamond League, Neeraj Chopra made a throw of 89.94m to claim the second position while the 24-year-old finished at the top in the Lausanne Diamond League with the best throw of 89.08m.
