In a commanding display, the Gujarat Titans (GT) secured a resounding 10-wicket victory over the Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 60 of the IPL 2025, held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 18. Chasing a formidable target of 200 runs, GT's opening duo, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, orchestrated an unbeaten partnership, leading their team to 205/0 in just 19 overs. Sudharsan delivered a stellar performance, scoring 108 runs off 61 balls, including 12 fours and 4 sixes. Gill complemented him with an impressive 93 off 53 deliveries, hitting 3 fours and 7 sixes.
Earlier in the match, DC's KL Rahul showcased his prowess with an unbeaten 112 off 65 balls, marking his fifth IPL century and becoming the first batsman to score a century for three different franchises in the IPL. His innings propelled DC to a total of 199/3. Despite this commendable effort, DC's bowlers struggled to contain GT's aggressive chase, failing to take any wickets.
DC now face must-win matches in order to qualify for playoffs
The win propelled GT to first place in the points table with 18 points, while DC remains in 5th position with 13 points. This victory solidifies GT's position in the playoffs, while DC's hopes of advancing have been significantly diminished.
With two games remaining for both sides, GT are set to face LSG and CSK while DC will take on MI and PBKS.
