India’s domestic season will kick off with the Duleep Trophy, which is scheduled to take place in Bangalore from June 28. The zonal tournament will mark one of the earliest ever starts to the Indian domestic season. The 2023 edition of the tournament will be the 60th edition of the tournament after debuting in 1961.
As per the latest update, the entire tournament will take place in Bengaluru. The domestic tournament will kick start with the quarterfinals at the Alur Stadium and Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the semifinals will also be held across these two venues with M. Chinnaswammy hosting the final of the tournament on July 12-16.

The first-class tournament has been played by teams selected by BCCI since 2016–17 and sees teams representing geographical regions of India compete in the competition, which is named after Kumar Shri Duleepsinhji of Nawanagar. The tournament is played across six teams, namely Central Zone, East Zone, North Zone, North East Zone, South Zone and West Zone.
West Zone enters as the defending champions, after defeating South Zone by 294 runs in the 2022 edition. Additionally, West Zone are the most successful side with 19 titles to their name.
