EA Sports has revealed the top-rated men's and women's players included in the latest edition of their flagship football game. After FIFA and EA failed to renew the contract, this will be the very first edition to bear the new name: FC 24. EA Sports has overhauled its rating system, which, as well as giving players an ability rank out of 100, also bestows them with special talents and playing styles optimized by Opta stats.

Just like FIFA 2023, the latest edition of the game will have the highest-rated character with a 91 rating. For the first time since 2007, neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo will be the highest-rated players in the game. The top-rated player spot is being shared by four players: Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, Kevin De Bruyne, and Alexia Putellas.
After the move to Inter Miami, Lionel Messi’s ratings have dropped by one from FIFA 23, slipping to 90. EA Sports FC 24’s best goalkeeper is Thibaut Courtois with a 90 rating, while the spot for the best defender will be shared between Ruben Dias, Mapi León, and Virgil van Dijk. The top 20 lineup features a seamless blend of both men and women, as well as a mixed bag of upgrades and downgrades compared to last year.
