Emma Raducanu is a British international tennis player, who has been a former US Open champion. She has a career-high singles WTA ranking of No. 10. Raducanu has been recovering from a back injury since the time she competed in Wimbledon recently, and had been defeated in the third round by Aryna Sabalenka.
However, her hard work and dedication towards the game has paid off for her as she has defeated the Greek International Maria Sakkari in a thrilling encounter by 6-4, 7-5, and managed to reach the semi-finals of the Washington Open. She showed extraordinary resilience to register a comeback from 5-2 down in the second set to attain the victory against Sakkari.
Raducanu will now be waiting to display a match-winning performance just like this one against the Russian international Anna Kalinskaya the next match to reach the final of the Washington Open.

After winning the match against Sakkari, in the post-match interview, Raducanu stated, "I've been doing a lot of good work. Little by little as you get results, you build confidence.But the amount of work I'm doing behind the scenes, to have that banked, you know you've done it. It takes a little bit of pressure off the results."
She further added that Maria Sakkari played really well and stated that the weather conditions suited her liveliness in the game. Raducanu is now ready to take on Anna Kalinskaya, wanting to put up a performance better than this one to reach the final of the tournament.
