Rohit Sharma announced retirement from Test cricket on May 7, 2025, and shocked the cricketing world as he was expected to serve India as captain in the upcoming five-match Test series in England. In recent times, he failed to justify his role as captain and batter in red-ball cricket and following that, he was facing criticism for his underwhelming performances. In his 11-year Test career, he made some crucial contributions to India with his batting and leadership prowess. On the massive occasion of his retirement, current and former Team India cricketers shared their reactions on the latest development on X.

His junior Rishabh Pant took to his social media account and recalled moments shared with the star opener in Tests. Taking to Instagram, Rishabh posted a picture of himself with Rohit while playing for India in a Test game and wrote, “Your presence and impact will echo in that dressing room forever. Always love, @rohitsharma45 bhai.”
