After suffering a massive nine-wicket loss against New Zealand, England returned to winning ways with a massive victory over Bangladesh. Playing at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, the Three Lions batted first and got off to a stellar start. Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan smashed a quick-fire 115-run partnership before the Yorkshireman departed after a half-century.

Malan took charge and smashed Bangladesh all over the park and stitched up a crucial partnership of 151 runs with Joe Root. Malan scored a stunning ton and then departed at a score of 140 in 107 with 16 fours and five sixes. After Malan's wicket, the Three Lions lost wickets at regular intervals and managed to post a total of 365 runs.
Unlike England, Bangladeshi batters failed to put on a big-hitting performance and had an early collapse. The Bangla Tigers were reduced 49-4 when Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim posted a short partnership. But after Das' wicket, it was a downward slide for Bangladesh as the lower order with a few decent knocks were bundled out at the score of 227 as England registered their first win of the World Cup.
