With the focus now firmly set on the World Test Championship (WTC) final and the five-Test matches against England, with a limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka sandwiched in between, India's preparation, in terms of tactics and strategies have already commenced. But months before the start of the England series, Barmy Army couldn't help but take a dig at Team India. The group of England cricket supporters shared a video of veteran James Anderson cleaning up Shubman Gill and Ajinkya Rahane during their recent tour of India and suggested he could be even more dangerous in home conditions.

"To all the India fans in our mentions saying Jimmy Clouderson," they captioned the video.

Indians fans remind Barmy Army of the audacious sweep by Pant off Anderson

However, Indian fans were also quick to join the banter with some of them reminding the Barmy Army of the audacious sweep played by wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant against Anderson in the same tour. The incident, which happened during the fourth Test in Ahmedabad, saw Pant play a reverse sweep over a packed slip cordon for a boundary and made Anderson look like an ordinary bowler. The five-match Test series is set to begin in August.

A "different" team will travel to Sri Lanka

Since Virat Kohli-led India will already be in England prepping up for the Tests, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly confirmed that it will be a "different" team that will travel to Sri Lanka which will be full of limited-over specialists. India is to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in the island country in July.
