Jack Grealish, the England midfielder, had a tough 2024-25 season in all competitions at Manchester City, falling out of favour with manager Pep Guardiola. The 29-year-old was left out of the Manchester City squad for their last Premier League match of the season against Fulham, and he wasn’t picked for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in the USA in the post-season either, making him one of the top candidates to leave the club this summer.

And now, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Italian journalist, Everton have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Jack Grealish on a season-long loan deal, to bolster their squad for the 2025-26 season. With that, Jack Grealish, who is understood to have a £300,000-a-week wages at his current club, could end up earning the same number at Everton in the upcoming season.

Jack Grealish won multiple trophies with Manchester City

After joining Manchester City four years ago for £100 million from Aston Villa, Jack Grealish has won three Premier Leagues, one Champions League, and one FA Cup titles. In his 157 appearances for City, Grealish has scored 17 goals and provided 23 assists, but only seven Premier League starts in the 2024-25 season, which was the first trophyless campaign under Pep Guardiola in nearly a decade.

Jack Grealish was on the bench for Manchester City in their FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace in favour of teenager Caludio Echeverri, following which his future at the club became uncertain. With no teams coming to sign him on a permanent deal as wanted by Jack Grealish himself, he accepted the season-long loan deal to Everton, where the opportunity to be a centre attraction at newly built Hill Dickinson Stadium awaits.

The career move to Merseyside could also give him the best chance to push for an England national team spot for the FIFA World Cup next year after missing out on the UEFA European Championships last year.
