On Tuesday, June 10, Formula 1 and FIA unveiled the calendar for the 2026 F1 World Championship season. However, with the 2025 edition underway, the FIA unveiled a 24-round campaign for the next season, which will commence from March 6 with the Australian Grand Prix, set to take place in Melbourne.
The 24-race season will kickstart comparatively later than the usual start in February end due to the holy month of ramadan. Moreover, seeing a delayed start, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prixs will be held from 10-12 March and 17-19 April, respectively.
Spain to host two races as Madrid set to make F1 debut in Spetember 2026
The schedule sees few changes in the European leg. It will begin in Monaco from June 5-7 with Spain holding the final race in this part. Notably, Madrid will mark its debut in the F1 calendar with its maiden race scheduled to be hosted from September 11-13.
“2026 will be a new era for Formula 1 where we will witness a brand-new set of regulations for our sport, the cars and the engines that will be powered by 100% sustainable fuel. We are excited to welcome Madrid to the calendar, and to see huge automotive brands like Audi, Cadillac and Ford join the Formula 1 grid,” Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1 said, as quoted in the media release.
