With the advent of social media and the growing paparazzi culture in India, even the personal life of celebrities isn't quite their personal anymore. Especially, if one is a cricketer or a movie star in India, handling fans and media can sometimes be a draining affair. Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and his wife actress Anushka Sharma have had their fair deal of bad experiences with the media and fans but ever since they have become a parent, they have been extremely cautious of keeping their daughter Vamika away from the public life.

Answering a fan question in Instagram, Kohli on Saturday explained the meaning of his daughter's name and why people would have to wait a little longer to get a glimpse of her. Kohli wrote, "Vamika is another name for goddess Durga. No, we have decided as a couple to not expose our child to social media before she has an understanding of what social media is and can make her own choice."

Kohli is currently in Mumbai with Team India before he travels with the rest of the team to the United Kingdom. While they will take on New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final at Southampton, they will then play a five-match Test series against England, commencing in August. Meanwhile, a separate team full of limited-overs specialists will travel to Sri Lanka for a white-ball tour in July.
