The cricket fans all over the world were given heartbreaking news when it was confirmed that beloved South African batsman AB de Villiers will not come out of his retirement to play again for his country. The 37-year-old had announced in 2018 that he was hanging up his boots from international cricket. However, considering his spectacular performances for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL, there were reports that ABD could make a sensational return to the national side for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
No ABD comeback happening for South Africa
The news of AB de Villiers returning to play for his national side has been the major talking point for the last couple of months. The fans were eagerly waiting to see Mr. 360 return to the side with South Africa set to play T20Is against West Indies and Ireland. However, all the cricket lovers were disheartened to see the name of AB de Villiers missing from the squads. To add salt to the wound, CSA also confirmed that discussions with the SA batsman have concluded, with ABD deciding once and for all, that his retirement will remain final.
