In a major development, FC Barcelona has launched a brand new worldwide OTT platform called, “Barca One,” a Netflix-like service, for free, on Tuesday, March 5. The Catalan giants revealed that Barca One “is the natural and necessary evolution of Barca TV+,” which is going to keep them “at the forefront of the entertainment industry.

With the Barca One OTT platform, FC Barcelona will “democratise” its video material without charging any money, which will be advertisement-based, and the fans will not require registration to access it. Also, there will be the option of paying to watch without advertising, but it will be free for the members of FC Barcelona.

As per the press release from FC Barcelona, “Barça One will be able to draw on over 1,500 hours of material from the Barça TV archives (games, shows, reports, historic content, etc.) as well as a new selection of programmes with the latest Barça info, including live broadcasts, press conferences, original content and much more.”

“Origins | Araujo,” will be the first exclusive content on Barca One, a documentary on Ronald Araujo, set to be premiered to the media on Wednesday, March 6, in Barcelona. The 40-minute program will explore “the roots of the Uruguayan defender, including a visit to his homeland of Rivera, and looks in depth at the player's family, personal and professional background, and the ways they have impacted his career.”

Moreover, FC Barcelona haven’t been at their best on the football pitch, and as per the recent rumours, Xavi could be sacked if they lose to Napoli in the second leg of the round of 16 tie in the UEFA Champions League.
