One of the world’s biggest musical artists, Drake is set to partner with Spanish football club Barcelona to celebrate 50 billion streams on Spotify . The Sweden-based music platform has been one of the key sponsors for the Blaugrana as they have the title sponsor rights on the jersey and naming rights for the stadium.

So, for the all-important El Clasico against fierce rivals Real Madrid, Barca will replace the streaming service's logo with the October’s Very Own (OVO) owl logo of the Canadian rapper at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Spanish capital.

Drake, himself, broke the news on his Instagram account as he posted pictures of the special jersey with his logo. In the caption of the post, the 35-year-old expressed excitement about this new partnership. The caption read, “To celebrate being the first artist with 50 billion streams on @spotify @FCBarcelona will wear the OVO owl at El Clasico on Sunday 😵‍💫 this doesn’t feel real but it is 😂🤷🏽‍♂️"

The Vice-President for the Marketing area of FC Barcelona, Juli Guiu addressed the new partnership with Drake as he talked about how this creates new avenues in the strategic relationship between the two entities.

He said, “Our alliance with Spotify goes beyond a mere commercial relationship. As we have stated on numerous occasions, it is a strategic relationship through which we seek to bring together two worlds that can arouse emotion, namely music and football. This initiative is another example of this desire and the innovative spirit of our collaboration.”

Now talking about the El Clasico, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been neck and neck this year in La Liga. Both teams are undefeated and have an identical record, but the Catalans are on top with a superior goal difference. Entering this crucial fixture, the teams look vulnerable as they had disappointing results in their respective Champions League matches.

Real Madrid stole a 1-1 draw against Ukrainian club FC Shakhtar Donetsk in Poland. After conceding an early goal at the 46-minute mark, Los Blancos found an equaliser in the dying minutes of extra time. Whereas Barca had a thrilling 3-3 draw where Robert Lewandowksi equalised for the Blaugrana in the 92nd minute.
