Federico Chiesa, an Italian international footballer who plays as a left-winger for the Premier League giants Liverpool, has opened up on extending his stay with The Reds. The 27-year-old, who joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window of 2024 for a reported transfer fee of £10m plus £2.5m in add-ons as asserted his stance on staying with Liverpool despite transfer rumours.

Chiesa came on as a super-sub in the Premier League opener match against Bournemouth and went on to score match-winning goal for Liverpool in the dying minute, which helped them to take a lead and eventually win the match 4-2. According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Federico Chiesa has made his stance clear that he is determined on continuing at Liverpool. Though some of the Liverpool fans were not happy with the signing initially, Chiesa has started to make a positive impact with his fearless attitude and clinical finishing.

Federico Chiesa willing to stay and compete in starting XI: Reports

In his first season under Arne Slot at Liverpool, Chiesa had a tough start as he was battling through an injury during the tournament. The Italian international only managed to make 16 appearances for The Reds in all competitions. However, Chiesa is deeply loved and respected player inside the dressing room which improves the overall environment in the team. His late appearance and impact in the first game of the season was just a glimpse of what he has in his locker and the potential to become the next best at Liverpool.

Liverpool were reportedly in talks to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid. However, with Chiesa starting to establish his place in the squad, this move seems very unlikely now. Chiesa will be looking to rewind the clock and produce the same level of performances which he did to guide Italy to becoming the Euro 2020 champions.
