Analysis:
The Argentinian team suffered a humiliating defeat against the 51st-ranked Saudi Arabia in their opening game. The Albiceleste were ahead in the game after Lionel Messi converted a penalty. But after that goal, they conceded twice and lost the game. Messi was their best player while multiple defenders and midfielders had bad performances. But other than PSG star, Lautaro Martinez had a few chances in against Saudi Arabia.
Whereas Mexico also didn’t have a lot to offer against Poland and almost lost the game thanks to Robert Lewandowski’s missed penalty. La Trini’s defence and midfield held their own but the attacking force failed to make an impact against an equally struggling Polish side. Keeper Guillermo Ochoa was once again the team’s backbone and helped them salvage a point from the fixture.
