The Netherlands have looked like one of the most dominant teams in the tournament so far. The Dutch outplayed their toughest group opponent Senegal but faltered away against an emerging Ecuador team. Oranje took an early lead but conceded an equaliser in the second half to settle for a draw. Midfield maestro Frenkie de Jong has been their best player along with Cody Gakpo, who has scored twice so far for the Dutch.

In both these losses, the Qatari team was outclassed but they managed to score their first World Cup goal against Senegal.
