Preview:

Saudi Arabia and Mexico will lock horns in another crucial Group C game at the Lusail Stadium. Both these teams have a chance to qualify for the Round of 16 stage if they manage to win the game.  Mexico was defeated by a Lionel Messi-led Argentina. Whereas Saudi Arabia had to face an unstoppable Robert Lewandowski who ensured Poland registers a 2-0 win.

Team news:

Saudi Arabia

Yasir Al-Shahrani and Salman Al-Faraj will be missing the game for the Green Falcons.

Mexico

Veteran Andres Guardado was subbed out at the 42-minute mark against Argentina and hence could miss the game for Mexico.

Analysis

The Saudi Arabian team shocked the world after defeating Argentina 2-1. But since then the Green Falcons were humbled by a marauding Robert Lewandowski who scored and assisted in their second game.  Herve Renard's looked threatening in the opening moments of the game but lost the spark in the second half. Their captain Salem Al-Dawsari has been their top performer and would want to redeem himself after missing a penalty against Poland.

The Mexican team has lived up to any expectations in this year’s World Cup so far. El Tri drew their opening game and then suffered a 2-0 loss against Argentina. Gerardo Martino’s men would now need a massive win to hopefully get into the Round of 16. Forwards  Hirving Lozano and Raul Jiminez would need to step up as their captain and midfield focal point Andres Guardado could miss the game.
