FIH Hockey Men's World Cup 2023: Hosts India in Pool D alongside England, Spain and Wales

Based on their FIH World Rankings as per June 1, 2022, India, Australia, Belgium, and Netherlands are placed on the top of their respective pools.

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has revealed the four pools of the upcoming Odisha Men's Hockey World Cup 2023 at the draw ceremony held in Lausanne on Thursday. The hosts of the tournament, India are placed alongside England, Spain, and Wales in the Pool D.

The FIH Men's World Cup 2023 will take lace from January 13 to 29 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela. The World No 1 and CWG 2022 champions Australia are placed in the Pool A alongside Argentina, France, and South Africa. 

Based on their FIH World Rankings as per June 1, 2022, India, Australia, Belgium, and Netherlands are placed on the first row of their respective pools.

FIH Men's World Cup 2023 pools:

Pool A: Australia, Argentina, France, South Africa

Pool B: Belgium, Germany, Korea, Japan

Pool C: Netherlands, New Zealand, Malaysia, Chile

Pool D: India, England, Spain, Wales

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, FIH Acting President Seif Ahmed and the Minister of Sports & Youth services in Odisha, Tusharkanti Behera attended the draw ceremony.
