T20 World Cup 2022 is turning out to be mother of massive upsets among all its previous editions. After West Indies were shockingly eliminated from the qualification round, Ireland shocked England in their respective group stage match, and now Zimbabwe stunned Pakistan in their Group 2-encounter at Perth Stadium on Thursday.
Babar Azam-led side fell short of 1-run as Zimbabwe held the nerve till the end to clinch historic victory over Men in Green. With that defeat, Pakistan found itself in the middle of mud as they have lost their first two matches in the ICC tournament. While chasing mere 131, Pakistan's top-order succumbed once again as Babar Azam and Md. Rizwan were hunted down by Zimbabwe bowlers way too early in the game.

Despite Shan Masood (44 off 38) brilliance in the middle, Mohammad Nawaz (22 off 18) and Mohammad Wasim Jr. (12 off 13) stitched crucial partnership in the middle, but Zimbabwe held the nerve till the end to clinch a thriller win over Pakistan. For Zimbabwe, Sean Williams scored a valiant 31 off 28 deliveries, while Brad Evans added valuable 19 in 15 balls towards the end. Meanwhile, prolific allrounder Sikandar Raza picked three wickets and Brad Evans took two wickets to guide Zimbabwe to a historic victory in the T20 World Cup 2022.
