An FIR has been filed against the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) by the Cubbon Park Police. The state board has been accused of serving stale food during the Indian Premier League clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals on May 12. A case has been registered against the management board and the canteen manager based on the complaint filed by 23-year-old Chaitanya.
Notably, Chaitanya had attended the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals on May 12. He attended the match from the Qatar Airways fan’s terrace stand and had a meal at the stand. According to ANI, Chaitanya ate food from the canteen and had gulab jamun, ghee rice, channa masala, cutlet, and more. Shortly after having the meal, Chaitanya experienced a stomach ache and collapsed.

He was given medical assistance from the ambulance outside the stadium and was later shifted to a private hospital. Upon checking doctors confirmed that he had suffered food poisoning. It is said that the food served during the match in several games of the season was of poor quality. Coming back to the match, the clash saw RCB beat DC by 47 runs and move to the fifth spot in the standings.
Out of 10 teams participating in the tournament, three including Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans have been knocked out. On the other hand, KKR and RR have already secured playoffs berth. RCB will be up against Chennai Super Kings for a virtual knockout clash on May 18 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
