The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League beginning on March 22, will probably be the last time fans will see MS Dhoni donning his yellow jersey and leading the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the tournament. In the 2023 season, Dhoni responded to his fans’ requests and promised to stay for one more year. Mahendra Singh Dhoni led the side since its inception, i.e. 2008, and since then, under his captaincy, the Yellow Army has won five titles.

Five jobs MS Dhoni can do after retirement

However, the day is not far when the former India captain will draw curtains on his IPL career as well. While fans will miss him on the field, the 2011 World Cup-winning captain is likely to engage in some other work, given his skills, ventures, and other expertise.

The 42-year-old cricketer holds the honourary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the 106 Para Battalion of the Indian Territorial Army. Dhoni recently opened up about his post-retirement plans at a recent event and said that he would like to spend more time with the Indian Army, which he said he missed in the past few years. Though the cricketer has time and again made sure to spend time with his troops, he can focus on his army career more once he quits cricket.
