Every year around 1.3 million people die in road traffic crashes and many cricketers were involved in the car accidents in 2022. Recently, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant survived a gruesome car accident while returning home to celebrate the New Year's eve with his mother.
The year 2022 brought a plenty of sports action, particularly in cricket as the ICC T20 World Cup took place in Australia from October to November. However, 2022 also brought some horrifying incidents that include car accidents involving cricketers.
Here are the five car accidents of 2022 that involved cricketers:
1. Rishabh Pant
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant met with an accident while traveling to his hometown in Roorkee, Uttarakhand from Delhi early on December 30. The Delhi Capitals captain was rescued by a bystander, who was unaware of the cricketer's identity, and suffered injuries on the head, along with a ligament injury on his right ankle as per Police statements
