Free Fire announced its participation in the Esports World Cup, becoming a contender for the million-dollar prize pool as well as an exclusive ticket to the Free Fire World Series 2024 Global Finals. The elite competition aims to make a significant difference in the world of competitive gaming. Not only the Esports World Cup 2024 would offer a colossal prize money but would also act as a gateway to the 2024 Global Finals.
The tournament will have eighteen teams clashing against each other at the global level after earning spots through various regional qualifiers. The distribution of slots would be diverse, resembling the true nature of the competition. A total of eight teams from the FFWS SEA Spring will make it to the World Cup 2024. The number of teams qualifying from FFWS LATAM, FFWS Brazil, and the Snapdragon Pro Series will be three, three and two, respectively.
Apart from that one team each from MEA Qualifier and PK Qualifier will qualify for the World Cup. Talking about the date and schedule of the tournament, it is set to unfold in two stages from July 10, 2024 to July 14, 2024. The Group Stage will kick off on the first two days, whereas the final two days will decide the ultimate champion.
As per the latest developments, a series of events are set to be hosted throughout the year. The esports season will culminate with a pinnacle event, the Free Fire World Series in Brazil in November 2024.
