The Indo-Australian duo of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden lost to the Italian pair of Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli to reach the Men's Doubles final at the French Open 2024. The defending Australian Open champions suffered a 5-7, 6-2, 2-6 score line to miss a spot in the final. The Italian pair against the winner between the pair of Petros Tsitsipas - Stefanos Tsitsipas and Marcelo Arévalo - Mate Pavic.
Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli went all the way to win the first set 7-5 which saw the Italians make multiple come back from 4-1 down before winning the tenth game and levelling the score 5-5. Vavassori and Bolelli then won the next two consecutive games to clinch the set. Then in the second set, Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden rocked back with a dominant 6-2 win but faced a setback as the Australian was dealing with an injury.

The third set then started with a few intense games with both teams looking in top form. But the Italians then found and took advantage and sealed a dominant 6-2 win to clinch the semi-final and enter the Roland Garros final.
Bopanna picks N Sriram Balaji as doubles partner for Paris Olympics
Rohan Bopanna has named N Sriram Balaji as his doubles partner for the upcoming Paris Olympics. As quoted by PTI, Rohan Bopanna said, "I have sent an email to AITA," and added that he confirmed his choice only after hearing back from the national body. AITA Secretary General Anil Dhupar also revealed that he does not object to Bopanna playing with Balaji, ranked 84, at the Paris Olympics.
