Ederson Moraes, a Brazilian international footballer, plays as a goalkeeper for the English side Manchester City. The 27-year-old signed for Manchester City on a transfer fee of £35m from Benfica which made him the second most expensive goalkeeper of all time. The Brazilian international has made approximately 372 appearances for City, in which he has managed to maintain 168 clean sheets. However, he has not been City’s primary choice in the last campaign.
According to the latest reports, the Turkish champions, Galatasaray have made a bid of €3m in order to sign Ederson from Manchester City. Ederson’s contract with Manchester City expires in the year 2026, which means that Manchester City will now have to decide if Ederson is part of their plans for the upcoming season. Galatasaray are likely to remain in contact with the Brazilian’s representatives, and earlier reports suggested that Ederson would be willing to lower his salary demands to facilitate the move.
Manchester City to decide Ederson’s future in upcoming days: Reports
Manchester City had a relatively poor campaign according to their standards last season and this year they have already made three new signings in the transfer window, which included the likes of Rayan Cherki from Lyon, Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves and Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan. It will be up to Pep Guardiola if he considers Ederson to remain their starting goalkeeper in the upcoming campaign.
Ederson has played a huge role in several major trophy winning campaigns for Man City and also received the FIFA’S Best Men’s Goalkeeper award in 2023 for the most number of clean sheets in the Premier League and Champions League during the 2022-23 campaign. It will be interesting to see if Galatasaray can pull off this deal or if the player will continue to remain at Manchester City.
