One of the most prominent league tournaments of the E-sporting world, Gamers8 is nearing its completion. The Rocket League tournament is about to end the event for the year, after top players and teams gathered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a thrilling and high-octane celebration of gaming and sports for eight weeks. This was the second season of Gamers8, which featured a larger prize pool and more events and esports clashes.

The second edition of the tournament is hosted by the Saudi Esports Federation, and the season kicked off on July 6. Gamers 8 2023 will come to an end on August 31, after a close to 2-month-long exciting event. Also called ‘The Land of Heroes’, the Gamers8 competition featured 13 esports tournaments and offered a prize pool of USD 33.5 Million. 

The matches of the tournament commenced on August 24, where teams will come together to win the whopping prize money at Riyadh Boulevard in an offline LAN setting. The tournament will have a total of 24 teams locking horns to take the lion’s share of USD 2 Million. 

The tournament will be played on the lines of the given format: 

  • Group Stage

In the group stage, a total of four groups will be created with each having six teams. It will be a double elimination bracket, where all the matches will be played on a basis of five after all the teams will decide on their roster. 

  • Game 1: 3v3
  • Game 2: The loser of Game 1 picks from 1v1 or 2v2 Game Mode
  • Game 3: 3v3
  • Game 4: The Game Mode will be the one that has not been chosen in Game 2
  • Game 5: 3v3

After this stage, two teams from each group will advance to the next stage. 

Playoff Stage

The playoff stage will be a single elimination bracket, where all the matches will be played in the best-of-seven format. 

  • Game 1: 3v3
  • Game 2: The loser of Game 1 picks from 1v1 or 2v2 Game Mode
  • Game 3: 3v3
  • Game 4: The Game Mode will be the one that has not been chosen in Game 2
  • Game 5: 3v3
  • Game 6: The loser of Game 5 picks from 1v1 or 2v2 Game Mode
  • Game 7: 3v3
