Ahead of the IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) came up with their RCB Unbox event for the third consecutive year. In the event, star RCB player Virat Kohli presented franchise’s new skipper Rajat Patidar with a memento and also asked the fans to show their full support for their new skipper in the upcoming season. Patidar was appointed as the RCB skipper for IPL 2025 after the franchise released former captain Faf du Plessis ahead of the mega auction last year.

During the unbox event, Virat Kohli urged the fans to give their captain Rajat Patidar all the love they can and also backed him to do a great job as a skipper. “The guy who is going to come next is the guy who’s going to lead you for a long time. So, give him all the love you can. He’s an amazing talent; he’s a great player; we have all seen that. He has got a great head on his shoulders, and he will do a great job for this amazing franchise and take the team forward. He has got everything that’s required,” Kohli said.

Can Rajat Patidar lead RCB to maiden IPL title?

Rajat Patidar was among the top contenders to lead RCB in the upcoming season of the IPL. However, there were also rumours that Virat Kohli could take the captaincy back with no other experienced Indian playher in the squad. However, the franchise cleared all the queries after they officially announced Patidar as skipper for IPL 2025. The fans are now hoping that Patidar will the RCB to their maiden IPL title this year.
