In the 46th over of the New Zealand innings in the second ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final, all-rounder Glenn Phillips smashed four consecutive fours on the bowling of South African pacer Marco Jansen at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The right-handed batter kept his attacking intent going till the completion of the New Zealand innings, helping them post a daunting total of 362/6, which is the highest team score in the history of the tournament.

It was Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson in the New Zealand top order, who both scored hundreds at better than a run-a-ball, to set up a perfect platform for the team for the death overs. Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips took over from them in the closing stages of the Black Caps innings, with the latter hitting four fours in a row against Marco Jansen.

Following his stunning display of fielding time and again in the Champions Trophy 2025, Glenn Phillips showcased how much his batting has also evolved in the past couple of years. He ended up staying unbeaten on 49 runs in 27 balls with six fours and one maximum, to ensure that New Zealand comfortably went past 350-run total in the second semi-final of the Champions Trophy.
