Since making his Test debut in 2010, Cheteshwar Pujara has been a reliable run-scorer for the Indian team. His brilliance in red-ball  cricket is second to none, among the Indian pool of players.

The 34-year-old has been rock solid with his composure to steer the team in crunch moments. The highlight of his career was the brave knock of 77 off 205 balls in the 2020/21 series at Sydney, wherein he copped body blows from the Australian pacers to help India in saving the Test  match.

However, Pujara received flak due to his average outing in the last couple of Test series and lost his place in the side for the home series against Sri Lanka earlier this year as well.

The contract signing with Sussex for English County Cricket in March worked magic for him, as he pelted runs in a consistent manner and was the top scorer for the team. The two double centuries resulted in his comeback to the Indian red-ball team as well for the England series.

His white-ball cricket form has surprisingly been terrific in the Royal London One  Day Cup for Sussex as well. In eight games, the top-order batter has slammed  614 runs at a staggering average of 102.33.

Following  his rich form, Pujara did a quick Q & A session on 24 August (Wednesday) on  Twitter. One of the questions posed by a fan to the cricketer was, ‘What are  your goals for the rest of your career?’

Pujara answered,  ‘I like being in present and don't set too many goals for the future but winning the WTC (World Test Championship) title is one’.

Currently, India are in the fourth position in the WTC 2021-23 points table. The top two teams from the table will feature in the Finals.
