Indian skipper Rohit Sharma finally got his form back after he smashed his 32nd ODI ton in the second ODI against England in Cuttack on Sunday, February 10. With the help of his hundred, India defeated England by four wickets to win the three-match series by 2-0, with one game to go. After the match, Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav came up with a heart-winning story for Rohit after his fiery hundred in Cuttack.
Suryakumar Yadav shared a story on his Instagram featuring a video of Rohit Sharma completing his 100 against England during the second ODI. Suryakumar shared the story with a caption, “Good things happen to good people. God is great." Notably, Rohit wasn’t looking in great touch from the last couple of months which became a concern for Indian fans ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025. However, with 10 days ahead of the tournament, Rohit finally got his vintage form back and smashed a hundred in just 76 balls.
India win ODI series vs England, aim clean sweep in Ahmedabad
India registered another convincing win over England in the second ODI at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack to take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series. Batting first, England were bowled out for 304 runs in 49.5 overs. Joe Root was a top scorer with 69(72) runs hitting six boundaries. For India, Ravindra Jadeja registered figures of 3/35.
Chasing the winning target, India got a flying start as Rohit Sharma (119 off 90) and Shubman Gill (60 off 52) added 136 runs for the first wicket in 16.4 overs. After that Shreyas Iyer (44 off 47) and Axar Patel (41* off 43) also played crucial knocks as India chased the winning target in 44.3 overs losing six wickets. Now, the Men in Blue will be looking to whitewash the series by 3-0 with a win in the third game and get fully prepared for the upcoming Champions Trophy. The third and the final ODI will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 12.
