What is the new GTA 6 release date?
GTA 6, which was initially anticipated to launch in the Fall 2025 window, has now been delayed, and the new GTA 6 release date is 26 May 2026.
Rockstar Games said, “We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game. With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. Why is GTA 6 release delayed?
CEO Strauss Zelnick said he supports Rockstar Games taking more time to finish GTA 6. He believes the delay will help deliver a better experience and bring long-term value to both players and investors.
In his statement, Zelnick stated: "We support fully Rockstar Games taking additional time to realize their creative vision for Grand Theft Auto VI, which promises to be a groundbreaking, blockbuster entertainment experience that exceeds audience expectations."
