The 2023 season of the Indian Premier League began at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, with the defending champions Gujarat Titans taking on the Chennai Super Kings. As interesting as it sounds, the season will conclude at the same venue with the same teams clashing against each other in the final summit on May 28, Sunday. As fans of both the franchises are excited to see their favourite teams lifting the trophy, former India great Sunil Gavaskar believes that GT are the best team, but his heart wants CSK skipper MS Dhoni to win the trophy. ‘Little Master’ added that he wants CSK to win the title this year as it would be fantastic to see Dhoni win the trophy one more time.

"Chennai Super Kings have always been my second favourite team apart from the Mumbai Indians. My heart wants CSK to win because the fact that MS Dhoni is able to win it one more time would be fantastic. Proving once again that calm, cool decision-making can make a difference. Having said that, Gujarat Titans have been the best team. They have got a terrific opener in Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya," Sunil Gavaskar told on Sports Today.

Notably, Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led his side to make it to the top two as they took down Gujarat Titans at home in Qualifier 1. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans, under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya made it to top two by taking down the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad. Chennai skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will look forward to win his fifth IPL title equaling Rohit Sharma, the skipper of Mumbai Indians.
