Gujarat Titans, the former IPL champions, are reportedly set to retain the services of their head coach Ashish Nehra alongside his entire coaching staff for the upcoming season of the tournament in 2025. In the recent months, there have been reports of Ahmedabad-based company Torrent Pharma looking to buy a majority stake in Gujarat Titans from CVC Capital, which would have seen the franchise go through a coaching staff overhaul, but it seemingly won’t be the case for the IPL 2025 season.
Notably, after helping Gujarat Titans win the IPL in their debut season in 2022, Ashish Nehra had signed a three-year contract with the franchise for his coaching services. According to the report from Cricbuzz, the 45-year-old will be seeing out his current contract with Gujarat Titans alongside Vikram Solanki, the director of cricket, who will also continue in his role till the end of the IPL 2025.
Gujarat Titans also expected to continue with Vikram Solanki in director of cricket role in IPL 2025
It is understood that the Gujarat Titans board, which had key executives from CVC Capital, namely Nick Clarry, Siddharth Patel, and Amit Soni, conducted a review of the players and the coaching staff before deciding to continue with the combo of Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki. Notably, Ashish Nehra wasn’t a big feature on television during the last season of the IPL, unlike the previous years, because he had apparently found himself out of the good graces of certain influential people.
Furthemore, with Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki expected to stay at Gujarat Titans, the assistant coaches Aashish Kapoor, Mithun Manhas, Narendra Negi, and UK-based Naeem Amin could continue in their jobs alongside performance analyst Sandeep Raju. As far as batting coach Gary Kirsten, who has now joined the Pakistan cricket team as white-ball coach, is concerned, there has been no information on whether Gujarat Titans will seek a replacement for him.
