Andre Russell got his form back as he smashed 57* runs as Kolkata Knight Riders take on Rajasthan Royals in match number 53 of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens. Coming to bat first against RR, KKR posted a total of 206 runs for the loss of four wickets, with Russell playing a crucial role. KKR were in good position to get to a total of around 170 to 180 runs as they were reduced to 111/3 in 12.4 overs.
Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 35 runs off 25 balls while skipper Ajinkya Rahane contributed with 30 runs off 20 balls. After that, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Andre Russell took charge of the innings as the duo put up a partnership of 61 runs for the fourth wicket. Raghuvanshi got out after scoring 44(31) runs, hitting five boundaries while Russell went on to smash his first fifty of the season in just 22 balls.

Andre Russell remained unbeaten on 57 runs off 25 balls, hitting four fours and six sixes, while Rinku Singh gave finishing touches with 19*(6) runs as KKR crossed the 200-run mark. For RR, skipper Riyan Parag, Maheesh Theekshana, Yudhvir Singh and Jofra Archer scalped a wicket each. The fans also come up with different reactions on Russell’s knock against RR.
Chasing the winning target, RR didn't get a good start as they lost two wickets under two overs with Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Kunal Singh Rathore going back to the pavilion. Currently, Yashasvi Jaiswal is at the crease in a run chase along with skipper Riyan Parag.
