While the win was even more special as Virat Kohli, who has been with the franchise since day one, lifted it, alongside the veterans of the side, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.
However, Virat Kohli’s emotions, both on and off the field were pure joy, he continued to express himself after lifting the title till the RCB dressing room. As the duo was seen embracing each other, they even walked arms in arms inside the RCB dressing room. As the duo stepped inside the dressing room, AB de Villiers said, “It’s that corner”, to which the 36-year-old quickly replied, “Heartbreak corner? No more”.
As the cameraman zoomed towards Kohli, who reached in area in the dressing room and threw a bat towards skipper Rajat Patidar, he was questioned of the feeling to which he responded, "Very difficult to explain, man.” “I think I am going to feel the real side of it when we get to Bengaluru tomorrow, and celebrate it with the city and the fans who have stood with us through thick and thin. So I am just relieved," he continued.
"Full bunch of match winners. People stepping up at different stages and putting their hand up to get the job done for the team. To have that hunger and confidence in them. This guy, local lad [points to Mayank Agarwal] comes in place of Dev [Devdutt Padikkal]. You could see they wear that badge with pride of RCB. That can never go away from a Bengaluru boy and yeah, this guy was special," Kohli concluded.
