The much-awaited ICC ODI World Cup 2023 schedule is out and the fans are excited to see their home team perform well against teams like Australia, England and their arch-rivals Pakistan. First semi-final of WC 2023 will be played between first place team vs fourth placed team in the points table in Mumbai, while second semi-final of WC 2023 will be played between second placed team vs third placed team in Kolkata.
So, if India ends as table toppers, then Pakistan should finish at fourth position to play against each other in semi-finals of WC 2023. Notably, in this case the semi-final will happen in Kolkata on 16 November instead of Mumbai.
If India ends at second position in ODI WC 2023 points table, then Pakistan should finish at third position of points table to face each other in semi-finals of WC 2023 in Kolkata on 16 November.
If India ends at third position in ODI WC 2023 points table, then Pakistan should finish at second position of points table to face each other in semi-finals of WC 2023 in Kolkata on 16 November.
If India ends at fourth position in ODI WC 2023 points table, then Pakistan should finish as table toppers to ensure these two teams face in semi-finals of WC 2023. Notably, in this case the semi-final will happen in Kolkata on 16 November instead of Mumbai.
So, India and Pakistan can face each other in 2023 ODI WC semi-finals if any one of the above four instance happens. These two teams can face each other in semi-finals of 2023 WC only in Kolkata on 16 November.
