Novak Djokovic, the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, will make his 17th appearance at the SW19 this year. The 36-year-old has won the Wimbledon seven times, while vying for his fifth straight title at one of the most prestigious events in tennis from July 3 onwards.

But, to win the 24th Grand Slam singles title, levelling the record of Margaret Court in the Open Era, the Serbian tennis player will need to go through a plethora of top-quality opponents in the upcoming two weeks in London at The Championships. Some of the names who could come in his path are Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Holger Rune, and Nick Kyrgios, among others.

In the first round of Wimbledon 2023, Novak Djokovic is set to face Pedro Cachin of Argentina. If the 36-year-old manages to defeat him, then he has the prospect to face the American Brandon Nakashima in the second round.

The seven-time champion could end up taking on Tomas Martin Etcheverry of Argentina or the former champion Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland in the third round of the Wimbledon men’s singles. The competition is expected to pick up for Novak Djokovic in the fourth round because his opponents could be Lorenzo Musetti, the 14th seed player from Italy or Félix Auger-Aliassime, the 11th seed Canadian.

If Novak Djokovic safely reaches the quarter-final stage of The Championships, then he might end up playing against Nick Kyrgios of Australia, in the repeat of last year’s final.

Meanwhile, the path to the Wimbledon quarter-final for the 28-year-old Australian tennis player is expected to be much tougher than the Serb. Nick Kyrgios will be needing to defeat David Goffin of Belgium in the first round, before he could take on the likes of Sebastian Baez of Argentina in the second round, Andrey Rublev the seventh seed player from Russia in the third round, and Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan in the fourth round.
