While players from around the world take huge pride in representing their country at the Cricket World Cup, that's not the be-all and end-all. There are several other things that a country by doing well in a tournament like the ICC Men's T20 World Cup apart from a reputation as a world force. In fact, for every win, there is a certain prize money that is given to the team which is further motivation to go out there and clinch the trophy.

While India might have bowed out of the competition after failing to overcome England in the semifinals, in all, they won 4 out of their 6 matches in the tournament. Notably, each victory in the Super 12 stages was worth $40,000. The Men in Blue won 4 out of their 5 Super 12 fixtures implying they will receive $160,000 for their performance in the Group Stage.

In addition, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had already announced that the teams that lose the semifinal will get an additional $400,000. This implies that India will get a total of $560,000 from their T20 World Cup campaign Down Under.

The team that goes on to win the tournament will get a whopping $1.6 million while the team that finishes second will get exactly half of it $0.8 million. Meanwhile, the eight teams that could not qualify for the knockout round of the marquee event will receive $70,000 each.

As many as 44 matches of the tournament have been conducted but all the important final awaits us at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 13. Pakistan will take on England in what is a repeat of the 1992 ODI World Cup final.

While Imran Khan & his men had scripted history back then, Babar Azam & Co. would want to repeat that history. However, England cannot be underestimated at all, given how they thrashed India in the semifinals, not giving an inch to a team that had entered this competition with a dream to end their title drought.
