After India's upsetting 100-run defeat against England in the second ODI, the cricket world has shown concern over Virat Kohli's poor form. In defense of the former Indian skipper, Virender Sehwag has drawn comparison between Kohli and legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar.
England bowled out Team India for a total of 146 runs on Thursday as Indian skipper Rohit Sharma scored a 10-ball duck, while the out-of-form Virat Kohli was dismissed on 16 runs in the second ODI.
While talking to Sony Sports, Sehwag talked about the poor form of Kohli and said, "I think everybody is waiting for a hundred from him, which hasn't come for a long time. If you take a look at his past record, he used to score a hundred in every 3-4 matches, that hasn't happened for some time now and maybe that is why there is so much talk about it."
Sehwag extended his support for Kohli by comparing his current period of century drought with the Master Blaster. He said, "We used to play with another such cricketer, whose name is Sachin Tendulkar. If he hadn't scored runs for 3-4 innings, the discussion used to reach a stage where it felt like he hadn't scored for long. He also used to score in every 3-4 innings, the same is with Virat Kohli."
